This page explains what data ambidestro.it collects, why, for how long, and what your rights are. In short: we collect as little as possible, we never sell anything to anyone, and we don't run targeted advertising.

What we collect and why

Newsletter
If you subscribe (from the homepage or the comment form) we store only your email address, to occasionally send you news about new articles and the book. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We keep the address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it: just reply to one of our emails or write to info@ambidestro.it.

Comments
To leave a comment we ask for your name, email and the text. Your email is never published. It is only used to contact you if needed and to fight spam. Every comment is read and approved by hand before it appears on the site. Legal basis: your consent. We keep the data for as long as the comment is online or until you ask us to remove it.

Browsing data
Like any website, the servers hosting ambidestro.it automatically log some technical data (IP address, browser, requested page, date and time) to keep the service secure and running. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are handled by our hosting provider and kept for a limited time.

Statistics (Google Analytics)
Only if you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to see, in aggregate, which articles are read and where visitors come from. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We don't use this data for advertising and don't combine it with other data. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Legal basis: your consent. If you decline, the Google script is not even loaded.

Cookies

We use very few cookies:

The technical cookie does not require consent. You can change your choice about analytics cookies at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who processes data on our behalf

Data is never sold or handed over to third parties for their own purposes. To run the site we rely on these providers, acting as data processors:

• Hostinger (EU): website hosting, database and content delivery network.
• Render (USA): the server that receives newsletter and comment forms and saves them to the database.
• Titan Email: the info@ambidestro.it mailbox, where we get a notification for each new subscription or comment.
• Google Ireland Ltd.: Google Analytics, only with your consent.

Some providers may process data outside the European Union (in particular in the United States). In those cases the transfer relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

The book and Amazon links

The links to buy the book lead to mybook.to and Amazon. From there on, their own privacy and cookie policies apply. We receive no personal data about your purchases.

Your rights

At any time you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format (Arts. 15-22 GDPR), and you can withdraw any consent you gave, without affecting processing already carried out. Write to info@ambidestro.it: we reply within 30 days.

If you believe your data is being handled improperly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of the EU country where you live.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 14, who should not subscribe to the newsletter or leave comments.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top.
